Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent a plate thickness from varying by detecting a roll eccentricity waveform based on a rolling load detected based on an output of a pulse generator of upper and lower backup rolls (BUR) and a rotation angle correction value and controlling a roll eccentricity based on the waveform. CONSTITUTION:Variations in plate thickness are prevented by operating a screw down device 3 based on outputs from a rolling load detector 2 of a rolling mill 1. Pulse signals from pulse generators 5 and 8 set on the upper and lower BURs of the mill 1 are outputted into the 1st and 2nd sampling devices 6 and 9 in a device for controlling roll eccentricity of the mill 1. The above pulse signals with fetching the output of the detector 2 in synchronization with the pulse signals are outputted into a roll eccentricity estimation arithmetic unit 10 and a correction value of the rotation angle initial value of the BUR calculated by a rotation angle correction arithmetic unit 12 based on the above pulse signals is inputted into the unit 10 to detect eccentricity waveforms of the BURs 4 and 7. A control output arithmetic unit 11 controls the screw down device 3 with synchronization to the above pulse signals based on the above BUR eccentricity waveforms.
