BURNER

PURPOSE:To provide a low NO2 combustion at a high efficiency without increasing unburnt components within burner ashes by effectively carrying out a thick and thin fuel combustion with a stable flame at a burner throat portion. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of coal and water (CWM) which is used as a fuel is fed along with an atomizing medium such as air or vapor from an atomizer 1, and injected into the furnace. Since fuel ejection ports 9 provided at the atomizer 9 are disposed at deflecting positions, the CWM is ejected in the circumferential direction of the burner thickly or thinly. On the other hand, combustion air is fed from a wind box 2 to a burner throat portion through an air register 3, and is mixed with pulverized coals at the rear part of a deflecting flow turning flame holder and burnt. At the burner throat portion, thickness and thinness are locally imparted to the fuel and the quantity of combustion air is varied, and it is possible to effectively carry out thick and thin combustion and the reduction of NO2 can be obtained.
