Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information-recording medium having high reflectance and high recoding sensitivity, enabling optical signals to be stably written and reproduced, having high stability to reproducing light, sunlight and moisture and free of possibility of environmental pollution, by providing a recording layer comprising a specified organic coloring matter. CONSTITUTION:An optical information-recording medium has a recording layer comprising an organic coloring matter of the general formula, wherein each of R1 and R2 is hydrogen, a halogen or 1-6C alkyl, R3 is a 1-6C alkyl, aralkyl or phenyl, X is an anion selected from perchlorate ion, fluoroborate ion and p-toluenesulfonate ion, Y is R4OR5 ro R4COR5 (R4: a 1-20C alkyl, R5: a 1-18C allkyl or phenyl), X is a halogen, 1-10C alkyl or aralkyl, and n is 0, 1 or 2. The recording layer comprising the coloring matter can be obtained by dissolving the coloring matter in a solvent such as ethyl acetate, toluene, acetone and methyl isobutyl ketone, and applying the resultant solution to a substrate by a spinner method, a dipping method or the like to provide a thin film.
