SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To effectively display an object including luminance out of the minimum and the maximum range, by setting an offset correction value and a sensitivity correction value at a value which sets a display output corresponding to one, at least, of luminance targeted for a reference as intermediate gradation. CONSTITUTION:In the titled device, the functions of a low luminance reference output setting switch 12 and a high luminance reference output setting switch 13 are expanded. For example, when the offset correction value is set, the value set at the low luminance reference output setting switch 12 is read by a microprocessor 11, and a difference between the value and the output PL of each picture element against a low luminance reference target accumulated on a display memory 8a, is set as the offset correction value. Next, when the sensitivity correction value is set, the values set at the low luminance reference output setting switch 12 and the high luminance reference output setting switch 13 are read by the microprocessor 11, and a proportion factor multiplied by the inverse of the output difference PHXPL of each picture element against a high and a low luminance reference targets accumulated on the display memory 8a, is selected so that the output of each picture element for high and low reference luminance becomes the set value, then the sensitivity correction value can be obtained.
