WATER CHANNEL COUPLING STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To permit vertical waving movement to be performed according to the movements of the ground for blocks to be used for construction of a water channel by a method in which connecting plates and connecting rods are set in a turnable manner around bolts under the condition that an expandible sealing member is held between the joint end faces of the blocks for construction of the water channel. CONSTITUTION:A connecting rod 10 is slantly set between blocks 1A and 1B for construction of a water channel, receiving holes 11 and 12 are provided in the upper and lower ends of the rod 10, and bolts 8a and 9a are thrust through the holes 11 and 12. The bolts 8a and 9a are loosely fitted into holes 6a, 6b, 7a, and 7b and the holes 11 and 12, and an expandible sealing member 14 is held between the joint end faces 13a and 13b. When the ground is vertically vibrated by overmuch loads, connecting plates 4 and 5 and the rods 10 are turned around the bolts 8a and 9b because of free apertures. Overmuch settlement and upheaval more than fixed limits of the blocks for construction of water channel can thus be prevented, and the sealing member 14 can be kept in a sufficiently held state.
