Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To realize a neutron radio graphy method suited for photographing an transmission image of a thick object, by providing a neutron source for generating fast neutrons radially, a thin plate-like film composed of a track recording material adjacent to the object placed on the opposite side to the position of the neutron source with respect to the object and the like. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is made up of a target 1 serving as a neutron source for generating neutrons, an object 2 arranged at an angle shifted by about 40 deg. from the projecting electron beam separated by about 80cm therefrom, a film 3 arranged to be adjoined right behind it. The object 2 and the film 3 are arranged above a floor 5 with a support desk 4 and fast neutrons radiated from the target 1 interacts with material of the object 2 and reaches the film after being attenuated. The transmission of the fast neutrons causes hydrogen in the film material to recoil and a track of a grown recoil proton is recorded on the film. Pits are generated in the track by etching using an alkali solution and contrasts created by the grouping thereof form the transmission image of the object.
