Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:An aldehyde bisulfite adduct of K582M-A of formula I (X is parent nucleus after removal of four NH2 groups from K582M-A; R is H, alkyl, aromatic ring which may be substituted; M is alkali metal or ammonium). EXAMPLE:Sodium K582M-A methanesulfonate. USE:Antifungals effective against fungi of the genus Candida, yeasts, and virus infection suppression, having sharply reduced toxicity of K582M-A. PROCESS:One mole of K582M-A of formula II is reacted with 4 moles of an aldehyde to give a Schiff base, which is then reacted with 4 moles of a bisulfite to form the compound of formula I. K582M-A is an antibiotic obtained from the culture filtrate of specific strains of the genus Metarrhizium, and constructed of 7 amino acids.
