PRODUCTION OF CAPSULE TONER

PURPOSE:To obtain a capsule toner which is less deteriorated even after long- term friction by adding a monomer into an aq. medium dispersion of core particles contg. a coloring agent and soft solid material and polymerizing the same in the surface part of the core particles. CONSTITUTION:A shell material is formed by polymn. in the surface part of the core particles contg. the coloring agent and soft solid material in the presence of an inorg. salt and/or water phase polymn. inhibitor. The water soluble inorg. salts are used at 1-40pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. monomer and the salts may be used in conjunction with the water cupric chloride, alkaline earth metallic salt, antimonium salts, etc., are used for the water phase polymn. inhibitor and are used at 0.1-4.0pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. monomer. The film thickness of the shell material is 0.05-1.0mum, more preferably 0.1-0.6mum which are preferable in terms of the resistance to pressure, fixability and developability. The soft solid material which exhibits preferable fixability is used for the core material.
