MOLD RELEASING RING FOR FORMING DIE

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled mold releasing ring capable of releasing a mold with uniform mold releasing force and preventing the cracking of a molded body by arranging the ring coaxially with the forming die, making the mold releasing face flush with the outer peripheral end face of the molding face of the forming die, or shifting the mold releasing face slightly from a material to be molded. CONSTITUTION:The mold releasing face 10b of the upper mold releasing ring 10 is made flush with the outer peripheral end face of a molding face 12a of the upper die 12 (the lower mold releasing ring can be set in the same way). When a gob 15 is molded through the upper and lower dies 12 and 13, the mold releasing face 10b is provided with the same function as the molding face 12a of the upper die 12. The upward bulging of the upper face of the protruding excess thickness part 15b of a molded glass lens 15a is controlled by the mold releasing face 10b, and the protruding excess thickness part 15b of the lens 15a is always kept in uniform contact with the mold releasing face 10b of the mold releasing ring 10. Accordingly, the mold releasing force is uniformly exerted on the whole protruding part 15b of the lens 15a, and the cracking of the protruding excess thickness part 15b when released can be surely prevented. Moreover, the mold releasing face 10b in the mold releasing ring 10 can be slightly shifted upward to a distance of (h) from the outer peripheral end face of the molding face 12a of the upper die 12, and the same action and effect can be obtained.
