Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:Human pancreas elastase IIIB which is an enzyme hydrolyzing elastin having a specific amino acid sequence and constituting connective tissue, tendon, aortic perithelium, cervic-funiculus etc., or an enzyme having similar activity. CONSTITUTION:A cDNA bank is prepared by using a transcriptase and an mRNA separated from human pancreas. A plasmid containing a cDNA coding human elastase IIIB is separated from the bank using a probe and a desired cloned DNA is cut off from the plasmid. The objective elastase of formula is produced by using the cloned DNA. The cell to be transformed with the cloned DNA is preferably E.coli, Bacillus subtilis or yeast.
