SURFACE ACOUSTIC WAVE ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a surface acoustic wave element by coating an electrode forming face except terminal parts of the element body to prevent inter-electrode short-circuit phenomena due to sticking of conductive foreign matters such as metallic particles. CONSTITUTION:The element consists of an elements body 11 and a multilayered printed circuit board 21. Plural reed screen type electrodes 13 are formed on the surface of a piezoelectric substrate 12 of the element body 11 and are provided with terminal parts 14. The electrode forming surface except terminal parts 14 of the piezoelectric substrate 12 is coated with an insulating film 16. The multilayered printed circuit board 21 is formed by laminating three substrates 22, 23, and 24, and terminal parts 25 corresponding to terminal parts 14 of the element body 11 are formed on the surface of the lowest substrate 22. Terminal parts 14 of the element body 11 and terminal parts 25 of the multilayered printed circuit board 21 are joined with a solder to constitute the element.
