COOLING DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To raise the temperature of cooling liquid for a cylinder liner part without causing local ebullition in each part of a cooling system so as to prevent corrosion due to a low temperature by connecting an exit part of cooling liquid to the lower part of a cylinder jacket by means of a cooling liquid circuit provided with a liquid feeding means. CONSTITUTION:Water for cooling a combustion chamber flows in from an inlet 1-1 of a cylinder jacket 1 and goes up while cooling a liner barrel part 2-1, and flows into a water chamber 5-4 via 2-3, 3-2, 4-3, 5-1, 5-2, 6-1, 5-3 and subsequently flows out from an exit 5-5. A part of cooling water, raised in the temperature, in the water chamber 5-4 is led, by means of a motor-operated water pump 12, from an exit hole 10 into a water chamber 1-2 via circuits 11, 13 and further through a return port 14. Accordingly, the temperature of cooling liquid in the water chamber 1-2 can be raised higher than that of supply liquid, and the temperature of cooling liquid can be controlled a wide range.
