Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To simply perform a test, by a method wherein a dummy bar is allowed to fall at a constant speed and a molten metal is pulled out from a model casting mold to be cast while the contact surface with the model casting mold of the molten metal is cooled to form a coagulation angle to said metal and, thereafter, the casting mold is disassembled and a sample is collected from the obtained test piece to be subjected to testing. CONSTITUTION:A model casting mold is constituted of a casting mold material test piece 4 and the bottom part thereof is closed by a dummy bar 2 and, thereafter, a slag forming material 17 is put in the model casting mold and voltage is applied to between an electrode holder 12 and a fixed plate 1 to form not only molten slag 17 but also a molten metal 18. After the molten metal 18 has been formed in a suffi cient amount, a drive motor 15 is started to fall the dummy bar 2 at a constant speed. Whereupon, because the molten metal is cooled at the contact surface thereof with the model casting mold, said molten metal is pulled out from the model casting mold to be cast while a coagulation angle is formed. By this method, the test piece is contacted with molten slag for a predetermined time and slid and, thereafter, the model casting mold is disassembled to collect a sample of the test piece and various characteristics are investigated.
