POSITION ADJUSTING DEVICE FOR EDGE MASK

PURPOSE:To permit the simple, quick, automatic and sure adjustment of the position of an edge mask by providing a guide frame which is hung and fixed with the edge mask in the central part in such a manner that said frame can be moved by a driving source on guide rails provided in the upper part of a plating cell. CONSTITUTION:The edge mask 7 which shields the transverse end of a strip to be plated in the plating cell is rotatably mounted to be hung and fixed to the central part of the guide frame 13 by means of an equalizing shaft 20. The frame 13 is provided movably forward and backward on the guide rails 10a, 10b attached with racks 12a, 12b engaged with pinions 18a, 18b via a ball screw 24, an internal screw member 20, etc., driven by a motor 27. A signal is fed to the driving source by the above-mentioned constitution by which the guide frame 13 is moved and the mask 7 is moved forward and backward to the position corresponding to the sheet width or when the strip meanders, the mask 7 is retreated to the position where the mask does not collide against the strip.
