Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance in high purity and yield, by reacting an organotin oxide with an aqueous solution of a hydrogen halide, and heating the reaction mixture with an organic solvent capable of forming azeotropic mixture with water, thereby removing water and said solvent. CONSTITUTION:An organotin oxide having 1-12C alkyl, phenyl or cyclohexyl group as the organic group (e.g. monobutyltin oxide) or its mixture with an inorganic tin compound (e.g. tin oxide) or an organotin halide (e.g. monobutyltin trichloride) is made to react with stoichiometric amount or slightly excess aqueous solution of a hydrogen halide (e.g. 35% aqueous solution of HCl). An organic solvent capable of forming an azeotropic mixture with water (e.g. toluene) is added to the above reaction mixture, and heated to remove water from the reaction mixture. After removing precipitate from the distillation vessel if any, the organic solvent is distilled off to obtain the objective compound. |
