APPLICATOR

PURPOSE:To aim at reducing an application failure in a phosphor to be applied to an inner surface of a transparent glass tube, by installing a wire in space between an application nozzle and a bulb. CONSTITUTION:A vessel 1, where phosphor emulsion is put in as far as a determinate quantity, is supplied with this phosphor emulsion. Each of wires 3 and 3' is installed in space between an application nozzle 4 and a glass tube to be applied. These wires 3 and 3' are adjusted of each length so as to come into contact with a part of the phosphor emulsion when the phosphor emulsion is discharged out of the application nozzle 4. When alumina or the like is coated on an inner surface of the glass tube, a failure due to a coating shortage comes to none at all even in the case wherean inner diameter of the glass tube varies and, what is more, switching time also becomes unnecessary.
