Zusammenfassung:	A silver halide photographic emulsion is prepared by using in the precipitation as protecting colloid an amphoteric cyclodextrin-polymer having an average molecular mass of 2,000 to 15,000 and a cyclodextrin content of 30 to 70% and wherein the molar ratio of the alkaline and acidic groups to the CD is between 0.5:1 and 5:1 , in 0.5 to 5-fold amount, calculated on the weight of the silver halide, in form of a 2 to 20% solution. The resulting crystals are physically digested in the same medium for 15 to 60 minutes,whereby during the period between the fifth minute from the beginning till the fifth minute before the end of the ripening gelatine is added to the system in a 0.5 to 4-fold amount calculated on the weight of the silver halide.
