Zusammenfassung:NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R is H, halogen or lower alkoxy; R' is H or lower alkoxy; n is 1 or 2; when n is 2, two R groups may be the same or different; the position of R is 2'', 3'', 4'', 5'' or 6'' or an arbitrary combination thereof]. EXAMPLE:N-[4'-(2''-chorobenzyloxy)-3'-methoxybenzoyl]-4-aminopyridine. USE:It has activity to promote myocardial contraction and is useful as a remedy for congestive cardiac insufficiency and a cardiotonic agent. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting an acid halide of formula II (X is Cl or Br) with 4-aminopyridine in the presence of a base (e.g. triethylamine).
