DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT FOR GRINDSTONE

PURPOSE:To improve the precision of the shape of a work by installing a turning means for turning a grindstone contact point position detecting means and automatically measuring and calculating the radius value of the circle and the position of the center point of the top edge part of the grindstone. CONSTITUTION:A turning shaft 5 is turned by the drive of a hydraulic cylinder, and when a limit switch 18 is operated, the hydraulic cylinder is brought into stop, and the turning shaft 5 is nearly positioned, and then a pinion 10 is engaged by a positioning hook, and then the turning shaft 5 is correctly positioned. Then, the working table of the grinder is shifted to advance a measurement element 4 towards a grindstone 1, and allowed to contact the top edge center part of the grindstone 1, and the coordinate value of the working table is read and memorized by an NC apparatus. Then, the measurement element 4 is allowed to contact the top edge side edge parts on the both sides of the top edge center part of the grindstone 1 by the similar operation, and the coordinate value of the stop of the working table at this time is read and memorized by the NC apparatus. The radius value of the top edge circle and the position of the center point of the grindstone 1 are calculated from these three coordinate values.
