PARALLEL PROCESSING DEVICE FOR UNIFICATION

PURPOSE:To leaves the execution of a processing unfinished which is useless, namely proved to be unsuccessful, with the program by detecting quickly the failure of the unification of an argument. CONSTITUTION:Data parts are sent through signal lines 611 and 613 to a computer 605. When both tag parts show the constant, a single 615 comes to be 'true', and when the tap parts cannot unify like a list and a constant, a signal 614 comes to be 'true'. When the impossibility of unification is detected by comparing the tap parts only and even when both tag parts show the constant, the data part is not coincident and the impossibility of unification is detected, a signal 617 comes to be 'true'. When the signal 617 comes to be 'true', a unifier B stops the checking of the subsequent argument and sends a signal 619 to request the unification stoppage to a unifier A. The unifier A receives the signal 619, and then, the unification is completed and to program executing control part, a signal 108 of the failure of unification is transmitted.
