Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To measure a thrust load operating on a bearing speedily and accurately by arranging unit cells which has strain gauges and has tip parts in contact with a flange flank on respective bearing support members at almost equal intervals in the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:When the thrust load operating on the bearing 2 is detected, unit cells 11 and 12 are set on a rotary machine whose thrust load is to be measured, and a bolt 14 is rotated to place a necessary pre-load on the unit cells 11 and 12. Consequently, a value F/2 is detected on the side of the unit cell 11 and a value F/2 is detected on the side of the unit cell 12 when the thrust load is F. If there is the influence of a heat output, outputs of strain gauges detected by the unit cells 11 and 12 contain thermal strain and are sent to a differential amplifier through signal conditioner and the output of differential amplification is sent to the load digital display device, analog recorder, magnetic recorder or computer, etc., of a post processing part and processed.
