MEDIUM ACCOMMODATING MECHANISM

PURPOSE:To improve reliability and lighten the labour of an operator by setting the diameter of a drum, arrangement position, and waiting position and suspending the revolution of the drum, restraining the top edge part of the medium at the waiting position when the medium is long, and then releasing the medium after the rear edge part is perfectly discharged, thus permitting the medium to be reversed free from adjustment independently of the length. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of a drum 3 which is proper for treating the shortest medium 1 among the medium 1 discharged from a printing machine 10, arrangement position, and a waiting position T immediately before a paper discharge stopper 5 are set. When the medium 1 is long, the revolution of the drum 3 is temporarily suspended, restraining the top edge part of the medium 1 at the waiting position T, and after the rear edge part is perfectly discharged from the printing machine 10, a chuck 4 releases the medium 1. Therefore, even if the medium 1 is long, the top edge part is certainly held, and the springing-up of the medium by its own restoring force is prevented, and the reversing operation can be certainly executed. Therefore, the reliability of the device can be markedly improved, and the labour of an operator can be lightened.
