Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To keep a fixed level for a molten metal surface by arranging a circuit, which outputs a DC bias signal corresponding to a reference opening of a sliding nozzle, to equalize an increase or decrease for a pouring rate of the molten metal with an increase or decrease for an opening degree of the sliding nozzle and transmitting the signal to a driving device. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 2 is poured into a mold 4 through the sliding nozzle 1 and a submerged nozzle 6. As AC signal zero-level outputted from an oscillator 10 is changed by DC bias signal generating circuit 19, a pouring rate of the molten metal during a time, in which an advancing length (opening degree) of a cylinder rod 7c is longer than a reference length, is equalized with it during a time, in which the advancing length is shorter than a reference length. In this way, the molten metal surface level is controlled to fix at high accuracy by adjusting the opening degree of the nozzle.
