Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:alpha- or beta-Cyclodextrin is added to a substrate of beta-(4-nitropenyl)- maltopentaoside and the product is used to enable one to determine the activity of amylase stably with high sensitivity and accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A reagent for determining alpha-amylase activity which is composed of a combination of beta-(4-nitrophenyl)-maltopentaoside, alpha-glucosidase, beta- glucosidase with alpha- or beta-cyclodextrin. These reagents are preferably used in the form of a solution in a buffer solution. Further, it is preferred to add an alpha-amylase activator such as NaCl or CaCl2, to the reagent system.
