IMAGE PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To prevent a memory from reduction of using efficiency and deterioration of access performance by forming a memory control means for controlling large capacity information in each segment unit and small capacity information in each page unit which is a control unit smaller than the segment unit. CONSTITUTION:A processing program and its data and image information are dispersedly stored in a semiconductor memory 101 capable of rapid accessing and an auxiliary storage device 102 capable of large capacity storage so that the processing program and image information lately accessed with high access frequency are stored in the semiconductor memory 101, and the program and image information having low access frequency and having n latest access are stored in the auxiliary storage device and the memory control units are changed in accordance with the kinds of information to be stored. Consequently, the memory can be prevented from the reduction of using efficiency due to virtual storage or deterioration of access performance.
