Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To lower an electrolytic voltage and to reduce electric power for electrolysis by using a flexible anode or cathode and pressing the same with a conductive base via a diaphragm in the stage of electrolyzing an aq. alkaline soln. with a diaphragm type electrolytic cell for which a cation exchange membrane is used. CONSTITUTION:The cation exchange membrane 1 having permeability with gas and liquid and having excellent corrosion resistance and having an anode or a porous layer consisting of an inert metallic oxide, nitride or carbide as the anode is used as a diaphragm in the stage of electrolyzing an aq. NaCl soln. with the diaphragm type electrolytic cell for which the cation exchange membrane having the porous layer is used. The expanded metal-like anode 2 and a flexible cathode 3 consisting of Ni, etc., are placed on both sides of the membrane. The flexible cathode 3 is pressed to the anode 2 via the diaphragm 1, by the conductive base consisting of currugated 5, net-like 6 or plural net-like members 7 via the diaphragm 1 to diminish the spacing between the anode 2 and the cathode 3. The lower voltage is required to be impressed between the two electrodes and the electric power for electrolyzing the aq. NaCl soln. is reduced. |
