Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To eliminate the abnormal structure at the boundary between an inside layer and outside layer and casting defects by casting the outside layer and casting a small amt. of the inside layer while the inside surface solidifies or is partially unsolidified to set a mixed layer, and successively casting the inside layers while the inside surface of the mixed layer solidifies or is partly unsolidified. CONSTITUTION:This method produces a high-cromium roll to be used for rolling of iron and steel by centrifugal casting at a low cost while eliminating the defects of said roll. The compound roll of which the outside layer is formed of a high chromium material essentially consisting of 10-25% Cr and contg. others such as C and adequate alloy elements and the inside layer is made of a cast iron is produced. After the outside layer is cast, a small amt. of the inside layer is cast while the inside surface of the outside layer solidifies or is partly unsolidified to set the mixed layer consisting of part of the outside layer and the outside layer mixed therewith. The inside layers are further successively cast while the inside surface of the mixed layer solidifies or is partly unsolidified. The component differences are relieved by casting the roll in two stages like the outside layer and the mixed layer and the mixed layer and the inside layer in the above-mentioned manner, by which the abnormality at the boundary and casting defects are eliminated.
