DEVICE FOR TREATING CONTAMINATED WATER

PURPOSE:To improve the settling efficiency and the clarifying efficiency of the treated water by arranging a partition plate for separating an influent part and a settling separation part extending from a position below the water surface to the vicinity of the bottom part and a partition plate for separating the settling separation part and an effluent part extending from a position above the water surface to a position in water. CONSTITUTION:The contaminated water wherein flocs have been formed by a flocculant is filled from an inlet 4 into the settling separation part F and the effluent part G through the influent part E of the main settling vessel body to the water surface L. The part e and the part F are separated by the first partition plate 15 and large flocs having a high settling velocity are directly intorduced from the part E into a compression dehydrating bed D. Small flocs having a low settling velocity are sent from the upper end of the first partition plate into a clarification bed B and then settled in a constant-velosity settling bed C and the compression dehydrating bed D. The parts F and G are separated by the second partition plate 16, hence fine flocs suspended in the vicinity of the water surface flow into the part G, access of fine flocs to an overflow through 13 is blocked, and the fine flocs are introduced to the part D from the part C.
