MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a magnetic recording/reproducing device by fixing the upper magnetic head and the lower magnetic head to a magnetic disk, making two pieces of pads descend and ascend, respectively, so that the surface and the rear side of the magnetic disk, and the magnetic head slide-contact to each other, and executing the recording and reproduction by both the surface and the rear side of the magnetic disk without moving the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:When a head supporting member 52 is pushed up clockwise (in the direction as indicated with an arrow X), and an upper pad supporting member 31 is pushed up clockwise (in the direction as indicated with an arrow Y), the head supporting member 52 and the upper pad supporting member 31 turn clockwise, respectively, and form an opening. When a magnetic disk jacket 80 is set, the upper face of a magnetic disk 81 abuts on the upper pad 33 and pushed downward, and the lower magnetic head 51b slide-contacts to the lower face of the magnetic disk 81. In such a state, by rotating the magnetic disk 81, and operating a head carriage mechanism, magnetic recording or reproduction can be executed.
