PURPOSE:To stop the transmission/reception/recording of a useless image signal by arranging a vibration sensor on an image reading part, judging the detected output of the vibration sensor every scanning of one line for image reading, and when the output exceeds a prescribed value, stopping the reading of the image. CONSTITUTION:The vibration sensor SE is arranged on a space formed on the fitting side of a converging fiber array 3 of an image sensor 1. The vibration of a facsimile device is decided by detecting the status of the vibration sensor SE every start of scanning of one line. Consequently, vibration approximately affecting the reading status of an image reading part can be detected. When the detecting output of the sensor SE exceeds a prescribed threshold, the sending of the image signal output of an image sensor IMAG to a MODEM is stopped. Consequently, an abnormality displaying light emitting diode LED is turned on and the intermittent sound of a buzzer is generated.
