INHIBITOR OF BLOOD PLATELET AGGREGATION

PURPOSE:A safe inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation having improved inhibitory action on blood platelet aggregation and extremely low toxicity, containing a specific compound extracted from seeds of Trichosanthes kirillowii MSXIMOWICZ var. japonicum KITAMURA, a cucurbitaceous plant as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation containing a compound shown by the formula I [R is H or group shown by the formula II (A is linoleoyl or oleoyl; B is tricosanoyl, linoleoyl or oleoyl)] as an active ingredient. 1,3-Ditricosanoyl-2-linoleoyl-glycerol (R = group shown by formula I and A is linoleoyl; B is tricosanoyl) among the compound shown by the formula I is obtained by extracting seeds of Trichosanthes kirillowii MAXIMOWICZ var. japonicum KITAMURA with water, methanol, etc., taking it partially by column chromatography, preparative liquid chromatography or high performance liquid chromatography and further hydrolyzed into tricosanoic acid where R=H. The inhibitor has excellent medicinal effect and safety.
