Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To miniaturize an apparatus by enhancing conductivity and reactivity and to prevent the destruction of a catalyst, by providing a spiral plate to the catalyst enclosing region formed of the outer peripheral surface of an inner cylinder and the inner peripheral surface of an outer cylinder arranged in a concentric state. CONSTITUTION:Gas to be reacted composed of a gaseous mixture of natural gas and steam introduced into a reaction tube 4 from an inlet pipe 9 is passed through a catalyst 1 and reacted under heating to be formed into hydrogen enriched reforming gas which is, in turn, led out to the outside from an outlet pipe 10 through an inner cylinder 3. Herein, a spiral plate 15 is provided between the inner cylinder 3 and an outer cylinder. As a result, heat transfer quantity increases because the spiral plate has the function of this and, further, stock gas spirally flows through the catalyst and the contact probability of the gas which the catalyst is enhanced and, therefore, reactivity is enhanced to shorten the reaction tube. Further, because the spiral plate can partially support the own wt. of the catalyst, the destruction of the catalyst can be prevented.
