Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To eliminate a backlash between a rack and a pinion by energizing a sub-pinion gearing with the rack in a rotary direction against the pinion via a resilient member. CONSTITUTION:A sub-pinion 6 is loosely coupled to a pinion shaft 2 by use of a key 9 so that said pinion 6 can turn at a fine angle with the pinion shaft 2. And the sub-pinion 6 is made to gear with a rack 5 and both ends of a segmental set spring 11 are hooked to a pin key 9 projected in the neighborhood of a key groove 7 on the upper surface of the sub-pinion 6.
