IDLING SPEED CONTROLLING METHOD

PURPOSE:To prevent an engine stall from occurring, by making a transmission judge whether automatic or manual in time of starting at the outset on the basis of a signal out of a neutral start switch, while storing it in a fixed memory device and controlling an idling speed according to the said judged result in time of idling afterward. CONSTITUTION:The presence of a signal to be transmitted at a drive range by a neutral start switch 23, detecting whether an automatic transmission is in neutral or not, is detected at an operation processing circuit 14, and according to the detected result, whether the transmission being mounted on the car concerned is an automatic transmission or a manual one is judged. And, according to this judging result, the desired idling speed is set, and in time of idle running, a control valve 13 is controlled so as to cause an engine speed to be found out of output of a turning angle sensor 27 to be accorded with the desired idling speed. At the abovementioned, the said judged result is stored in a fixed memory device inside the operation processing circuit 14, whereby idling speed control is made so as to be done according to the judged result in time of idling afterward.
