Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of straightening by forming a backup roll by plural roll pieces as well as supporting the roll pieces in a separately drivable state with respect to a leveling roll. CONSTITUTION:Each roll of a group of backup rolls, is formed by sectional roll pieces 10a, 10b, which are attached to axes 11 freely rotatably as well as are supported by bearings 12 separately. Each bearing 12 is connected to a worm box 15 through a rod 14, etc. and the power inputting axes of boxes 15 are connected to each other through couplings 17, 18. The couplings 17, 18 are provided with clutching functions respectively, and each box 15 is provided with a hydraulic motor 20 to vertically move the bearing 12 in order to press the roll pieces 10a, 10b separately. That is, the roll pieces 10a, 10b can be vertically moved all together, and are also capable of finely straightening local strains through the independent hydraulic motors 20. Accordingly, the accuracy of straightening is improved.
