WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To perform effectively decomposition of org. compds. contained in the water by oxidation, sterilization of general bacteria and colibacillus, and removal of residual chlorine by decomposition by flowing water downward between a source of ultraviolet rays and a cylindrical water passage. CONSTITUTION:A supporting body 11 is provided to the top of a cylindrical water passage 14, and a source 15 of ultraviolet rays is installed to the rear surface of the supporting body 11 simultaneously. Further, a cylindrical lamp- protecting body 16 is supported so as to cover a part of an upper half section of the source 15 for ultraviolet rays. Also, holes 17 are formed on the appropriate positions on the wall surface of the protecting cylinder 16 so as to flow water downward from a space between the external wall of the protecting cylinder 16 and the cylindrical water passage 14. As the result, the water flowing downward around the source 15 of ultraviolet rays is irradiated effectively with ultraviolet rays, and ozonized gas is mixed effectively with the falling water around the ultraviolet ray source to cause effective decomposition of org. compds. contained in the water by oxidation, sterilization of general bacteria and colibaccilus, and removal and deodorization of residual chlorine by decomposition.
