WATER TREATING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To enable decomposition of org. compds. contained in water by oxidation, sterilization of general bacteria and colibacillus, and removal of residual chlorine by decomposition effectively by flowing water downward through a cylindrical water passage discharged from a water flowing port provided to the cylindrical water passage and a source of ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical water passage 14 having a plural number of water flowing port 15 near its top end is provided to the foot end of a supporting body 11, and a source 16 for ultraviolet rays is installed to the inside of the water passage 14 at the rear surface of the supporting body 11. Thus, water is flowed downward from the port 15 of the water between the water passage 14 and the ultraviolet ray source 16. As the result, the water flowing downward around the ultraviolet ray source 16 is irradiated effectively with ultraviolet rays, so decomposition of org. compds. in the water by oxidation, sterilization of general bacteria and colibacillus in the water, and removal of residual chlorine in the water by decomposition are performed effectively.
