PATTERN RESTORING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To restore a pattern which is blurred or cut partially, without being annihilated or deformed, by providing a recovering part, and executing separately rather thick processing or rather thin processing to an outer outline pattern and an inner outline pattern, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A business form 2 is carried by a business form carrying machine 1, scanned optically by a light emitting source 3, and a character pattern, etc. are brought to image formation on a photodetector 4. This image is compared with a standard pattern by a recognizing circit 7 through a binary-coding circuit 5, etc., and in case there is a character pattern which cannot be recognized, a recovery processing is executed by a recovering part 10. That is to say, the recovering part 10 tracks an outline point of the character pattern first, divides it into an inner outline pattern and an outer outline pattern, and converts the result to a binary-coded pattern in order to execute a rather thick processing. Subsequently, with regard to the outer outline pattern, rather thick processing is executed, and a restored pattern is obtained by gaining AND of the processed outer outline pattern and the inner outline pattern. In such a way, by providing the recovering part 10, a pattern which is blurred or cut partially can be restored without being annihilated or deformed.
