COSMETIC

PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic having high stability, giving excellent feeling to the skin, and containing a saturated and branched higher fatty acid triglyceride having specific total carbon number of the fatty acid and containing more than specific amount of methyl or ethyl group as the side chain. CONSTITUTION:A saturated and branched higher fatty acid having a total carbon number of 16-22, having >=4 methyl or ethyl groups in the molecule as side chain groups, and preferably having one or or more >=3C branched chains, is esterified with glycerol, and the obtained fatty acid triglyceride, e.g. 2-(1-methyl-3-dimethyl-butane) 5-methyl 7-dimethyloctanoic acid triglyceride, is used as an oil raw material, and is compounded to a cosmetic such as cream, milky lotion, lipstick, cleansing oil, etc. to improve the quality of the cosmetic. A cosmetic giving excellent feeling to the skin, having high compatibility with skin, and stable for a long period can be prepared by this process.
