MANUFACTURE OF MOLTEN BASE METAL FOR MANUFACTURING STAINLESS STEEL

PURPOSE:To manufacture molten base metal economically by melting a solid raw material by burning fuel in a melting furnace provided in the vicinity of a blast furnace and conducting a part of hot air for the blast furnace in the melting furnace. CONSTITUTION:A blast furnace equipment supplies hot air of 1,000-1,300 deg.C which is obtained by sending air by a main air blower 3 to a hot blast stove 2 through an air filter 5 and a dehumidifier system 4, mixing oxygen from an oxygen generator 7 by a compressor 8. A melting furnace 6 is provided in the vicinity of the blast furnace equipment. In the melting furnace 6, the specified amount of coke is charged, and a bed coke layer is formed and burnt, and a melting material, slag forming material, charge coke and the like 16-20 are charged separately. Further from a raw material charging port 23, a part of the hot air is branched and conducted through a tuyere 14 from a blowing path 9 provided with a pressure reducing device 11. A hearth 13 composed of molten base metal for a stainless steel is formed by the combustion of the coke and hot air on the bottom of the melting furnace 6.
