Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enable automatic disconnection of a source switch even after careless failure of disconnection of it after termination of measurement, by installing color identification optical system of a test piece colored by a specimen material, signal processing system calculating this detecting signal into a measuring value and source disconnecting means in an apparatus provided with a display system of the result. CONSTITUTION:In a biochemical measuring apparatus 1 of urine sugar, etc., a sheet of test paper 2b which develops color by specimen element (representing sugar in case of urine sugar) impregnated with test material and a test piece 2 fixed on its end with a stick 2a are inserted in a measuring optical system 4. The optical system 4 is represented as a light transmission system of luminous diode 9 and photodiode 10 and a output of the diode 10 is transported to the CPU 19 through I/V converter 20, A/D convertor 21. The CPU 19, after processing the transported signal, sends the result to a display system 6 and if any abnormal condition is found, a buzzer B is operated. A power disconnecting means 23 is installed between CPU 19, source 18 and switch 15 and even if the switch 15 is failed carelessly to be disconnected after fermination of the measurement, the source 18 disconnected after the specified time. Thus, energy can be saved.
