Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To control a starting air valve for its opening or closing operation according to engine running conditions, by installing the starting air valve, leading starting air into a combustion chamber of each cylinder, and a controller controlling over operations in each starting air valve with the specified on-off timing. CONSTITUTION:An angle sensor 74 detects a rotational position of a crankshaft 58. A group of pipe lines, leading starting air into a combustion chamber of each cylinder 10, are opened or closed by plural starting air valves 16. A controller 76 calculates the on-off timing of each starting air valve congruous with a running cycle of each cylinder on the basis of detection output of the angle sensor, and with the calculated on-off timing, operation in each starting air valve 16 is controlled. Thus, the on-off operation of these starting air valves is controllable according to the running condition of a Diesel engine.
