Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve power generation efficiency, by a method wherein the section area of an air chamber positioned below an average water level is increased, and energy of waves with thin energy density below the average water level is effectively recovered. CONSTITUTION:A body 2 is located above a foundation 1, a generating chamber 4 is installed on the body 2, and a power is generated through rotation of a turbine in the generating chamber 4 through utilization of compression and suction of the air caused by vertical movement of a sea surface W by dint of waves in an air chamber 3. Further, the body 2 is constituted so that the sectional area of the air chamber 3 positioned below an average water level W1 is increased. This, since the volume of the lower air chamber 3 having less amplitude is increased occasionally by vertical movement of the sea surface thanks to waves in the air chamber 3, recovers energy of waves with thin energy density below the average water level 41, resulting in the possibility to improve power generation efficiency.
