Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a titled cell which adjusts an inter-electrode distance with good accuracy and improves electric power efficiency by binding a mesh type electrode for electrolysis bulged uniformly outward from the outside surface of a picture frame-shaped frame and ion exchange membrane by means of a gasket having an adequate size and shape. CONSTITUTION:Two electrode parts each constituted by attaching the mesh type electrode for electrolysis to the central aperture 8 of the picture frame-shaped frame A1 are superposed to form an anode body and cathode body. The above-mentioned anode and cathode bodies are alternately disposed via ion exchange membranes M and further the above-mentioned frames A1 have gas-liquid passage holes 2, 3 for the anodes and cathodes and passage holes 4 for supplying dilute caustic soda and passage holes 5 for supplying brine as well as communicating holes 6, 7 connecting said holes and the central aperture 8 on the lower side, thereby constituting the ion exchange membrane method brine electrolysis cell of the single pole filter press type. The substantially entire surface of the above-mentioned electrode A of said device bulges uniformly outward from the outside surface of the frame A1 and the gasket Pm whih has approximately the same shape as the shape of the frame A1 and the thickness larger than the bulging height of the electrode A1 is disposed between the electrode body and the membrane M.
