Zusammenfassung:	Novel compounds of formula I are prepared by reacting a 2-substituted 1,3,4-thiadiazole with 5-nitroimidazole-2-carboxaldehyde. The reaction is carried out at elevated temperatures in the presence of an acid condensation catalyst and of a solvent. Instead of the aldehyde, its acetals or acylals may also be used. The novel compounds of formula I may be used as chemotherapeutics for treatment of microbial infections.
