Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:AC5Y expressed by the formula. USE:An antitumor agent or antimicrobial agent, having antitumor activity and antimicrobial activity, and exhibiting antimicrobial activity particularly against Penicillium chrysogenum, and usable as an antibiotic effective for infectious diseases caused thereby. PREPARATION:A strain No.23-41 (FERM-P No.7771) belonging to Streptomyces capoamus is cultivated in a culture medium, e.g. glucose, malt extract or yeast extract, etc. preferably at 25-30 deg.C by aerobic liquid submerged culture method, etc., and the resultant culture filtrate is extracted with a water-immiscible solvent for the AC5Y, e.g. ethyl acetate, etc. to collect the aimed AC5Y from the culture.
