HEAD SUPPORTING MECHANISM OF FLOPPY DISK DRIVE

PURPOSE:To attain stably write/read action by supporting the lower head of a floppy disk drive at one side of a supporting plating spring to sink the low head to a carriage by means of said spring. CONSTITUTION:After a lower head 28 is fixed through a supporting plate spring 34 in the upward downward direction in a freely cantilever-movable manner, a magnetic shield plate 52 is fixed surrounding the lower head 28. For a movable part 34b of the supporting plate spring 34, the sinking quantity is regulated by a spring receiver surface 48a and 48b installed at the tip side of an opening part 46 of the carriage 18. In head loading, when pressure move than normal is applied to the lower head 28, the movable part 34b of the supporting plate spring is securely positioned and regulated. Even when pressure is applied to the lower head 28 in the lower direction becomes smaller and floating, etc., occur at a disk 10, the lower head 28 follows the disk 10 for an initial sinking quantity only and shifts in the upward direction.
