ROLL MOVING DEVICE OF ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To obtain a titled device capable of surely positioning a roll in its axial direction and well controlling the shape of a rolling sheet by providing a roll pulling mechanism to a roll chock located at the opposite side to a roll chock located at the side provided with a roll-shifting mechanism, in controlling a sheet shape by roll shifting. CONSTITUTION:A shifting device 6 is moved by a shifting cylinder 7 attached to the projecting block 8 of a housing 12, and a chock 4 fitly connected to the device 6 by the hook 19 of device 6 is also moved. Accordingly a roll 1 is also moved, but the roll-shifting position is not accurately fixed because of the combination of gaps G1-G4 in a shifting mechanism. Then, a movement error consisting of the gaps G1-G4 is eliminated by providing a pulling mechanism consisting of a cylinder 18 to the chock 5 located at the opposite side to keep the roll 1 always in a pulled state, and the roll 1 is moved always accurately to control well the shape of a rolled sheet. Further, a thrusted state is also available in stead of the pulled state.
