Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reproduce not only black but also a chromatic color on a copy by incorporating the dye of a color in complementary relation to the chromatic color to be reproduced, in the protective layer of a photosensitive body formed by laminating an electrostatic charge transfer layer, a charge generating layer contg. a charge generating pigment, and this protective layer on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body is formed by successively laminating on the conductive substrate the charge transfer layer, the charge generating layer contg. a charge generating org. pigment, such as tau, tau', eta or eta' type metal-free phthalocyanine, and the protective layer, and this layer contains a dye and/or a coloring matter having a color in a complementary relation to the chromatic color to be copied. A copper phthalocyanine dye is enumerated as the dye to be added to the protective layer. The light in the wavelength region of the color complementary to the chromatic color to be copied is absorbed to lower the sensitivity to the light in this wavelength region. Accordingly, the latent image of the chromatic color is formed in the photosensitive body, and the chromatic color part is reproduced by developing it with a developer. The sensitivity to white light is not lowered remarkably, and it has high sensitivity to near IR region. As a result, black and gray can be reproduced, and it can be used for printers using a white light source and semiconductor laser beam.
