PURPOSE:To avoid the misreading of a card which is due to a shift of the card position, by pressing the card with a spring and at the same time fixing the card to a frame by fitting a pin into a hole of the card to always ensure the assured fixing and accurate shift of the card. CONSTITUTION:A card 5 is completely put into a frame 3 having a card inserting slit 30 and then pressed to a contact part within the frame 3 by a card drifting spring. When the insertion of the card is detected, the air is supplied into an air cylinder 8. Thus a card fixing pin 10 is fitted into a hole 9 of the card 5 is positioned within the frame 3. At the same time, a stopper member 11 is detached from a stopper 12 to give a shift to the frame 3. Thus the air is supplied to an air cylinder 13, and then the frame 3 shifts along a rail 2. Then a hole 17 of the card 5 passes through the positions of rod lenses 14 and 15. As a result, the data is read. When this reading is over, the frame 3 is reset to its original queuing position. Thus the card 5 can be taken out.
